Oceanfest at Long Branch: Celebrate at New Jersey’s Largest Independence Day Festival!

Long Branch, NJ – The 29th Annual Oceanfest at Long Branch offers something for young and old alike, and attracts residents and visitors from far and wide. Oceanfest is a free, annual celebration for all ages and families that will take place on Saturday, July 4th from 10am-10pm. The event is rain or shine and stretches a half mile North across the Long Branch Oceanfront Promenade from Pier Village to Seven Presidents’ Park. Co-hosted by the City of Long Branch and the Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce, Oceanfest features a variety of delicious food, a large array of original crafts, professional sand sculpting, themed children’s shows, children’s rides, and of course–the Jersey Shore’s biggest fireworks display!

“Oceanfest showcases the best of Long Branch and the best of the Jersey Shore,” says Nancy Kleiberg, Executive Director of the Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce and Oceanfest co-chair. “Whether you are strolling the Promenade, sampling the great food, or watching your child in awe of the fireworks, Oceanfest is Summer in New Jersey!”

Aside from enjoying the already beautiful and relaxing Long Branch beach, there is plenty to entertain Oceanfest attendees. Marvel as master sand sculptors, John Gowdy, Matthew Deibert and Ian Deibert, create one of a kind exhibits that can be viewed from the Promenade. Children’s entertainment will include a Juggling Unicyclist, Balloon Artists, Strolling Costume Characters, a Magic Show, and more at the Garfield Memorial Stage on the Promenade beginning at 10:30am. Live musical entertainment throughout the event will have attendees groovin’ to a variety of genres from Motown to Rock n’ Roll to Reggae beats at the Great Lawn Stage. Musical performances begin at 12:30 pm with Goldenseal, Rave On, Valarie Adams and the Dimensions, Predator Dub Assassins, and Motor City Revue until the fireworks start.

As always, there will be a variety of delicious treats to savor from 30 food vendors serving up a multitude of dishes. Walking along the Promenade, visitors get to enjoy the smell of all types of cuisine. Over 100 Arts and Craft vendors adorn the oceanfront giving attendees the opportunity to peruse original and unique handmade items for sale. In addition, corporate sponsors and local non-profits will be in attendance showing off their products or getting people involved in their causes.

Once the sun sets, it’s time for the spectacular finale! For the largest fireworks display on the shore, you’ll want to plan your seat early; make reservations for one of the restaurants along the oceanfront, gather on the boardwalk, or just grab a spot of sand on the beach to enjoy the show. The fireworks display starts at 9:00 p.m. and listen to Q104.3 – New York’s Classic Rock for their musical simulcast!

The Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce raises all the funds for Oceanfest and the fireworks display. According to Nancy Kleiberg, Executive Director of the Chamber, “We are very fortunate that our main sponsors have continued to support this wonderful event.”
